Ruud Out and Van Persie, Van Bommel in Netherlands squad

Robin van Persie and Mark van Bommel have both been confirmed in the Netherlands squad for the friendly against Turkey after the pair recovered from injuries.

Wenger green lights Van Persie

Van Persie had missed more than two months with an ankle injury before returning as a substitute for Arsenal against Newcastle last weekend, although he didn't make it off the bench against Wolves in midweek.

Van Bommel did not play for Bayern Munich at the weekend and although the Bundesliga club hope to have the midfielder available against Nurnberg on Sunday, confirmation of his selection for the match on November 17 is likely to add to the strain between Bayern and the Dutch Football Association (KNVB).

Bayern had asked for Van Bommel to be released before the Euro 2012 qualifier against Sweden last month after he suffered a recurrence of a knee problem, but Netherlands coach Bert Van Marwijk, his father-in-law, claimed he was fit and he played for 70 minutes.

The club had already been in dispute with the KNVB after Arjen Robben returned from the World Cup with a hamstring injury.

Van Marwijk said: "They are both back in full training and declared fit by their club. Van Persie has played and Van Bommel will probably play next weekend.

"They want to choose - they love playing for the Oranje. At their clubs there are so many players away next week they can only do individual training. With us they can be with the whole group. It will also benefit their clubs."

Arsene Wenger - who had previously opposed Van Persie's inclusion - has softened his stance and now feels the striker could play 45 minutes to help him regain his fitness.

"We will sit down with Robin and the Dutch manager to sort that out," he said. "On one side this situation was completely surreal 10 or 12 days ago.

"Now, he is still not completely there but if he can get 45 minutes and we can find an agreement on that, it would be good for him to get some competition. We will have to see how he gets through the weekend and after we will decide that."

The injured trio of Wout Brama, Eljero Elia and Ruud van Nistelrooy have been ruled out, while Wilfred Bouma and Vurnon Anita Van Marwijk have been removed from the squad with Urby Emanuelson getting a call-up for the match in Amsterdam.
