Hamburg 4-2 Stuttgart

Piotr Trochowski, Jonathan Pitroipa, Mladen Petric and Ruud van Nistelrooy scored in Hamburg's 4-2 defeat of Stuttgart.

Ciprian Marica and Christian Gentner both netted for Stuttgart but those goals were not enough to earn the visitors even a point.
Hamburg opened the scoring in the third minute through Germany international Trochowski, who shot into the bottom right corner from the edge of the area after Stuttgart had failed to clear a corner.
But Marica levelled the scores when he headed in from a corner by Arthur Boka after nine minutes.
Romanian forward Marica turned from hero to villain seven minutes later when he was shown a second yellow card and was sent off after he showed dissent at the booking of team-mate Georg Niedermeier.
Hamburg went ahead just before the half-hour when David Jarolim passed to Pitroipa, who lobbed Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.
Petric put Hamburg further ahead before the break when Ulreich could only half-stop his lob and the Croatian was on hand to slide home the loose ball.
Jarolim's misplaced pass a minute into the second half surrendered possession to Martin Harnik with only Frank Rost to beat but he passed to Gentner who finished from 12 yards.
Trochowski hit a shot inches wide of the post and Hamburg added to their tally when substitute Van Nistelrooy scored with almost his first touch.
Petric's pass found the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man in space in the area and he lifted the ball over Ulreich.
Pitroipa set up Van Nistelrooy again but he took too long and Philipp Degen was able to tackle him.
Ze Roberto worked another chance for the home side but Pitroipa headed into the side-netting at the far post.
