German outfit Hamburger SV have received some promising news from the treatment table in the build-up to the second leg of their Europa League semi-final against Fulham.

Prolific striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has resumed regular training again after having recovered from a hip injury. The Dutch attacker is expected to be match fit in time for Thursday's match against the Premier League side.

Van Nistelrooy sustained the injury in the first leg of the Europa League tie with Fulham. The former Real Madrid striker managed to play through the pain barrier until the final whistle, but the injury forced him to watch Sunday's 5-1 league loss against Hoffenheim from the stands.

Meanwhile, defender Guy Demel and midfielder Ze Roberto have also resumed squad training again after a brief injury lay-off. Demel has recovered from a knee injury, while Ze Roberto is fully match fit again after a calf injury.
